You Gov Poll On Plastic Bag Charge

As you can see, most people Polled agreed with the 5p charge...roughly 2 to 1 in favour. But can anyone explain why UKIP supporters gave such a different result ? 49% agree and 44% oppose ?

Why should UKIP supporters be so much at odds to all other parties ?
The answer doesn't appear to be explained by gender, age, or social grade.

It may be that UKIP voters have a tendency to think for themselves and not swalllow all the bilge, drivel and nonsense spouted by many "mainstream"" politicians.

With public and personal debt at huge levels and rising, with discontent with the UK's relationship with the EU becoming a major issue, with the eurozone - one of the UK's major trading markets - plummeting down the kharzi, with uncontrolled immigration beyond their control, with a housing crisis, what do they come up with? A 5p charge for a carrier bag.

ric, how many plastic bags does a person need? Being non-biodegradeabe means that they can be re-used, many times. You just have to remember to take them with you when you go shopping.

Prudie, and others...read the Poll results again. The evidence from UKIP supporters are clearly not represented in any other demographic. All I was asking is what the reason might be ?

Well Londoners are fairly evenly split as are 18-24 year olds. Does that mean all UKIP voters are young Londoners? Of course not
