Appaling Cover Up In Rochdale Child Abuse Scandal.

This is bl**dy appalling. Boys as young as 8 years old were forced into savage sex acts with adults, and the Plods investigating at the time were deprived of the correct information by Rochdale Council.
It seems to me that it wasn't only Cyril Smith that was at fault here but the whole bl**dy Council.
Shame on them, especially the ones still alive to tell the tale.

What amazes me is how arrogant the perpetrators always seem to be, certain that their victims will never give them away, will never be believed if they do, will never meet at an Old Boys Reunion and plan comeuppance, will never reach postitions of power themselves ( e.g in the police force ) and be in a position to grass up the perverts. They can't imagine that every single pervert is going to avoid the day of reckoning, can they - just because perverts have power and the victims are weak ? That can't last forever.

You'd hope not. The perverts seem to be doing alright so far though. Savile was raping kids for decades and nothing was done about it. The catholic church never seemed to do much to get rid of the child abusers in it's midst.
The thing the abusers seem to rely on is not that is not that the kids won't report them or that they won't be believed, but that the people who are in a position to do something to stop them, just won't bother, because it's all too embarrassing or too much trouble for them. That's the thing that needs to change.

They were the problem rather than victims, so the regimes were uncaring and authoritatian. Thus, they attracted bullys to run them. In the 1970-90s Rochdale was the Thiefdom of the Liberals. The MP was a Liberal (and a paedophile), as was the Council was Liberal run. Between them they covered up Smith's vile activities, and the leaders of the Liberal Party knew it.
And nothing has changed. The muslim taxi driver groomers in Rochdale shopped for children in Rochdale care homes. They enticed them by selling them drugs and the currency was sex. And I am sure some must have been aware what was happening to girls in those homes.

I think Ludwig has made a very important point here. To use Savill as an example, just about everybody have now crawled out from under the woodwork and said Well, we all knew what was going on but they all just sat on their hands. With Savill I can just about understand the reasons for this, because he raised eye-watering amounts of money for charity.
But its a lot more difficult to see the reason where Cyril Smith was concerned. He was an MP for a minor party that didn't really matter, and had no influence. If he hadn't have been so grotesquely fat and ugly, its likely that no one would have paid him any attention whatsoever. And yet the Police investigated him on more than one occasion, but apparently didn't think it important enough to charge him with anything, so he carried on abusing very young boys.
In the 70's, a dossier of sexual abuse allegations was said to be lost by the Plods, but was instead seized by MI5. Quite why MI5 should be involved at all has puzzled many people for years, as Smith, whatever his perversions, could hardly be thought of as a security risk. After all, what was he likely to do...go over to the Russians ?
But its now clear why MI5 were involved, because Smith was involved in a much larger scandal, around The Elm Guest House in London, a meeting place for perverts, who used it a place to abuse young boys. Many well known names were involved in this scandal, most of them considerably higher profile than a self-important Liberal MP. The Editor will not be happy if I were to list those names, but they are there on the 'net for everyone to see. Some of the names are very surprising indeed !
So, its all to do with protecting the Establishment, and nothing to do with protecting vulnerable young children, and it disgusts me utterly. I have no doubt whatsoever that the same thing could happen now, and indeed, is almost certainly happening even as we speak.
I wish the campaigning Labour MP, Tom Watson every success in continuing to try to open this can of smelly worms. Sunshine is the best disinfectant known to man.
