Poor woman, lets hope she gets all the help she deserves
I actually find the reporting of this quite distasteful. It feels like a real invasion of privacy, even by the low standards set by the media.
yes.... I would be none the worse if I hadn't read that.
Living with a mental illness is horrendous enough without the press needing to report it.

People often treat you differently after a stay in a psychiatric hospital. What happened with Lee Rigby will not have helped her mental health problem.

Distasteful reporting imo!

I have every sympathy with this poor woman. She was so brave last summer, and she will always have that, no matter what happens now.
... but unfortunately it is news

we know from the report she was arrested for racial abuse
and then sectioned....
you have to be quite mad to be sectioned these days
and you have to be absolutely out of it for the police to notice that you need psychiatric help

poor girl, she has my sympathies
She witnessed and dealt with a horror nobody should ever be involved in. Whether that is a factor in her current health issues is the unanswered question the report has raised.

This should never have made the news.
If she had pre existing mental health problems they will not have been helped by what she saw last year, then the media circus surrounding it all and the fact she was in every newspaper... all of it would have been very stressful.
I hope she gets the help she needs and that the press leave her alone this time.
Indeed Daffy.
I do wonder if this lady had mental health issues when she intervened that awful day, as she did put herself in danger. ?
Another strange aspect of the whole Lee Rigby story is the fact that no member of his family has apparently ever got in touch with this woman, the Angel of Woolwich.
I am criticising no one, as we can never tell what impact such appalling circumstances might have on people, though it appears not to have done her much good.
Here's an article on that from the Telegraph six weeks ago which confirms that claim. The relevant section is below the second photo on the page.

I wonder if she would have been detained under the Mental Health Act had the Tesco worker been white?
-- answer removed --
ANOTHEOLDGIT the article makes no reference to the colour of the Tesco worker who could have been white and French for all we know.
The angel hasnt had an easy time with Fame.
The village lads have been twitting her on the subject of fame.

The Lee Rigby Family is in the usual form - there was an undivorced wife, and Lee was currently living with ... another girl. I think there were issues at the funeral in Bury. The estate of course without a will goes to the wife and the girl-fren' got nothing. I thought Angela had not been contacted by the family as they were still too busy fighting within themselves to pay an attention to any other thing
Peter - is it news, really? Is this an important piece of information? Is it something we need/ought to know?

I realise that with the internet, news media don't need to worry about inches of space in the paper, like they used to. And I doubt much time or resource was spent getting the story online - it was probably copy-pasted from AP or somewhere and then a 5-minute google search for the picture.

/// ANOTHEOLDGIT the article makes no reference to the colour of the Tesco worker who could have been white and French for all we know ///

*** She had been under investigation after claims a Tesco worker was racially abused in the town on Friday. ***

*** Loyau-Kennett, who has lived in Britain for 30 years after being born in Brittany to a French mother and English father, ***

That would hardly be considered racial abused, since she is partly French herself.

ANOTHEOLDGIT, where in the article does it say the employee was not white? Yet again you make assumptions based upon nothing but your own prejudices.
//// What point are you trying to make now AOG?////

The usual xenophobia.
