One day hailed as saviour of the system..
the next day cursed as Establishment figure not suitable to whitewash Establishment as a result of previous whitewashes.
First time I have seen a judge being criticised as unsuitable as he/she was awful the first time round.
Even Lord Mersey ( 1913 ) who did the Titanic inquiry - he didnt understand numbers so wouldnt stand any of this "thirty-five north crap" - no one said at the time - useless quite useless...... did they ?

Mandarins apparently sit behind their ornate desks and say to zero-hour-contract flunkeys, " well what have you got ? " - and the flunkey flunks suitably and says 'this my lord' and everyone thinks the job is done.
As Margt Thatcher once said - was it ever thus ?
and I think I hope not- did we just wake up in 1945 and find America had won the war ?
but I have my suspicions...

// so peter you believe the job has been given to the wrong person ? //
even the Lady herself may have come round to the idea that she was the wrong person for the job.
The family division was made closed secret and confidential,
so evidence in the court was automatically not the public domain.
Talk about private justice
The upshot was that information - now being private was not "transportable" so she forbad info such as the scout master who was involved in child abuse being 'outed' to scouting organisations.... and other cases.
and then everyone started saying twenty y later that she was the best one to investigate secret goings on around Parliament..... erm yeah - actually erm naaaah.
