" however, I do think that Israel's invasion of the Gaza strip has been cynically slid under the MH370 fallout."
Maybe, but didn't Israel announce in advance that it was planning a ground offensive?
An odd thing to do at the best of times, but surely undermines the charge that they were trying to sneak in on the back of other news.
As for the Litvinenko affair, I had a double take about this when I heard about it yesterday of all days. I'm sure it is a coincidence. I can't think why they would deliberately choose yesterday as opposed to later. It's certainly one-up for the justice system versus government, which tried to suppress an enquiry partly, avowedly because they didn't want to harm international relations, plainly grossly underestimating Putin's capacity to do just that far more effectively!
It's doubly bad news for Vlad because not only will it rake up the whole thing again, and quite rightly so, but it will also remind everyone of why Litvinenko in particular was targeted in the first place.
