With all the issues with planes recently I am more convinced that flying is not a good idea it is no longer the safest form of transport you will not get me on a plane again

It's very illogical to consider flying more dangerous - it's just because all accidents tend to make worldwide news. Statistically it's still the safest by a long chalk. I reckon someone dies on the roads in my county at least once a fortnight.

Traffic deaths are far higher in comparison - 6 times higher in the UK than the Ukraine deaths. Which is why I compared them. You seem to be agreeing with my point and calling it silly at the same time ?

Their last radio message was a request for vectors around a thunderstorm, which suggests to me that they had clear line of sight to the storm itself. For them to, in doing so, steer into the upper layers of a sandstorm would have been extraordinary bad luck. It was night-time so they wouldn't have seen it until they were inside it.

I'm anticipating the investigation will focus on the weater forecast issued to the pilots and how they arrived at their go/no-go decision.
