PS if you think BBC jobs are highly lucrative, you're sadly mistaken. A handful of management and big-name talent get money; you can be sure no Iranian staff do.

Remove the word Iranian from that statement, and it wouldn't be such a "story". Many folk are horrified by carcasses of animals cooking over a fire. Not all of them make that judgement on basis of religion.

Have there been any official statements from the Muslim community? No

Do we really think that most rational Muslims (yes, the do exist. They may even be in the majority...) would be outraged by this? I'll let you decide that one

This insider has not been named. Therefore we cannot know if this person thought it was disrespectful to themselves or was offended on behalf of others. Or dare I say it, even if they exist.

The only person who has spoken out, the journalist, has not said why they were offended.

Methinks the DM is making massive leaps and assumptions about this.

2sp, that they were, for whatever reason, offended by someone else's meal is, frankly, tough. Same with the people who complained about the dogs at the opening ceremony of the Commonwealth games. We need to stop pandering to them - and they need to get over themselves.

I'd be complaining to the BBC about that hog roast if I were the window cleaner. Surely that is far too close to the windows for health and safety let alone the grease that would be splashed up the walls and windows.
