That's a pretty stupid thing to have done, IMO, particularly since there was already a hooha about the parading Scottie dogs. Very insensitive on someone's part....
One journalist blogged about it, an unnamed person spoke to the Mail, no complaints received by the BBC.
Total non-story
so that's an Iranian tweet, an unnamed "insider" and nobody else. So who exactly was "enraged"?
Got to keep the DM readership in a state of indignation though HC
PS if you think BBC jobs are highly lucrative, you're sadly mistaken. A handful of management and big-name talent get money; you can be sure no Iranian staff do.
I have to agree with hc.

""Sharing a photo of a scorched pig's head covered in juice, an Iranian journalist wrote: 'Horror in my lunch break at BBC New Broadcasting House.'""

Remove the word Iranian from that statement, and it wouldn't be such a "story". Many folk are horrified by carcasses of animals cooking over a fire. Not all of them make that judgement on basis of religion.

Have the BBC received complaints? No
Have there been any official statements from the Muslim community? No

Do we really think that most rational Muslims (yes, the do exist. They may even be in the majority...) would be outraged by this? I'll let you decide that one
Silly man. He wasn't expected to eat it. He'll get over it.
I would be a bit put off by a pig's head (without the body) looking at me. Why didn't they have the usual type of barbecue?

What a crock of ***. My dear friend Liljana regularly made me ham/eggs when I lived in Albania in spite of being a devoted Muslim. She didn't touch it or eat it, but otherwise there was no problem.
Maybe they like hog roast. It's pretty popular at big gatherings.
People (and the Press) are assuming that this journalist was horrified on religious grounds.
Hmm...looking at the headline, it almost appears as if it could be...could be...could be....

Misleading.
2sp, //an insider berated the hog roast as 'disrespectful', //

Disrespectful to whom? The pig?

2sp, //an insider berated the hog roast as 'disrespectful', //

Disrespectful to whom? The pig?

No, to the Jews on the lower floor :D
This insider has not been named. Therefore we cannot know if this person thought it was disrespectful to themselves or was offended on behalf of others. Or dare I say it, even if they exist.

The only person who has spoken out, the journalist, has not said why they were offended.

Methinks the DM is making massive leaps and assumptions about this.
Haaa! No complaints from them. ;o)
2sp, that they were, for whatever reason, offended by someone else's meal is, frankly, tough. Same with the people who complained about the dogs at the opening ceremony of the Commonwealth games. We need to stop pandering to them - and they need to get over themselves.
I'd be complaining to the BBC about that hog roast if I were the window cleaner. Surely that is far too close to the windows for health and safety let alone the grease that would be splashed up the walls and windows.
I'd be complaining if I wasn't invited. ;o)
The journalist expressed horror, not offence.

Every day on my FB news feed, someone is horrified by a spider/pigeon/clown/train journey.
