OK, so it will cost the West something extra, but why does Russia think it is clever to ban food imports as surely this can only hurt themselves?
Given that in 2013 the EU's agricultural exports to Russia were worth €11.8bn (£9.4bn), while the US says its food and agricultural exports amounted to $1.3bn (£77m) just where does Russia expect to get all that food from all of a sudden? Surely it has to mean rations or people going without allover Russia?
The flights ban I get, the food one seems very odd.
