It really depends on whether you think "Britishness" is flimsy enough to depend on a test score. If you do, then probably yes.
Personally I care a great deal more about whether schools are equipping young people with life skills than general knowledge. Sure, it's nicer to live in a society where everyone is well-read. But I'm far more concerned about the failure of our schools to provide kids with basic life skills. You don't need to know who succeeded Queen Anne to get places. You do need a set of skills and an idea of what motivates you and makes you happy. Our schools need to fix that before they go fixing pub quiz aptitude.

I think they should have though to ask these 40>>>60 year olds if this country is in a mess, who caused it, how to get out of it, do we spend too much money looking after the people that are trying to get into this country without passports, where should this money be spent, also people coming into this country to settle and can not speak a word of the Language & expect the British Tax payer to foot the bill. Wait for it!
