Mikey - You have to understand....

The Koran, Hadith, etc. are infallible. If you can find any sort of justification for your actions contained therein, you can legitmately carry them out and have put yourself beyond criticism in the eyes of other Muslims.

If I recall correctly, the Taleban were focused on destroying the zoo in Kabul because it was Un-Islamic......until a scholar managed to find a written reference to Mohammed's 'menagerie' at which point the Taleban were content to let it stay.

Western culture ? why is that anybody who is not a rabid, backward Islamist is called "western" ? These people are backward and uneducated. The world is full of weird and wonderful religions but the vast majority of them don't behead innocent aid workers, sent to help their people.

The real question is ....what is to be done ? We clearly cannot just stand by by while another 100,000 innocent people are murdered. I'm not sure of the answer but doing nothing but stand on the sidelines, tutting, is not going to work any longer. It seems impossible to debate or negotiate with them. Even talking to these people is like trying to nail custard to the wall.

Sooner or later, the free world, a phrase that i prefer other than the "western world" is going to have to act. Compare the situation in the Middle East with the former Yugoslavia...what would it be like in the Balkans now, if we hadn't acted in the 20 years ago ? How many more people would Milosevic and the others barbarians have tortured and killed if we had just stood by ?

why do the media insist on continuing to give this self-styled "executioner" a cosy-sounding name? Jihadi John makes him sound like nothing more sinister than a pop-singing persona for Graham Fellowes - "Gordon is an infidel...."

The reason our politicians seem slow to act is because they are frightened that they will set off our home grown 'moderate' Muslims.

Last night there was an in-depth discussion on late night radio over this, and even then the presenter was very careful not to offend by bringing other religions into the argument.

Our politicians and some of the liberal left should stop pussy footing about and admit that we also have a problem here in the UK that needs addressing.

But if we do finely get "feet on the ground" so as to sort out these overseas murderous scum, we should go in with all barrels blazing, forget the "Geneva Convention", forget the "Rules of Engagement" and release the "tied arms" from behind our soldier's backs.

And if that makes us no better than them, so be it, who cares?

I abhor violence in all its forms.
I did say I think violence may be necessary, however I don't believe we should throw away our morals and ethical stance to support this.
IMO those views are just as rabid as those used by IS.

Firstly I have not used rhetoric, or emotional blackmail as you have.
Secondly, the troops on the ground already have better standards than yours and I would rather we kept it that way.
