Here's an idea - '15 years in prison' - not as snappy a title as 'jailed for life' but more accurate.

A life sentence with a minimum of 15 years in jail is very different to a 15 year sentence.

If life meant no parole prisons would be more unmanageable than they are now. 'Lifers' would have no reason to behave, after all their punishment can't get worse.

Dam savages, yes the phrase "life" should mean life, or it isn't life, it's jail term.

As has been said many, many times on here before about different cases, this is a sentence of life imprisonment. He cannot even be considered for parole until at least 15 years is up. There is no guarantee whatever that he will be released at that time - that will depend on how he's behaved himself inside. Once paroled, the slightest further offence can see him back inside for parole violation.

Should life mean life? Yes it should, we have no proper deterrent, it is time the punishment was more severe.
