Has anyone here in AB actually seen one? I haven't because I wouldn't want to see such ghastly acts or hear the 'justification' spewed out before it happened.

Agree Mikey but it takes all sorts. BTW -my post above is not a wind up its something I've wondered about, hoping the victim is dead before the final beheading but not being from a medical background have no idea at what point death would occur if the throat was cut.

Ive seen animals decapitated & thats bad enough, what more a person must be ghastly. How a man can repeatedly do this, he has to be mentally deranged.

I was the chairman of a Jury at an Inquest following the death of a man in an industrial accident a few years ago, and we had to look at some photos taken of the worker that had been decapitated by an overhead crane. It was horrible but we felt it our duty to inspect the evidence. Those photos stayed with me for a long time, I can assure you and I hope I am never in the same position again.

I suspect that the knife wasn't blunt though - it's difficult to come through the spine after all - think of the stories of medieval executions and having to take a couple of swipes or more with a full-on axe. One just hopes that he was taken out very quickly.....

I have seen a beheading video that I had unintentionally come across whilst on the internet. Gruesome and disturbing

Tambo, I hasten to say that once he had done it the first time, he's probably becoming 'increasing' inert to doing it.....my guess is that he isn't mentally deranged but brainwashed by the extremism of all around him in these murders and violence that ISIL practise.

I disagree. It must be discussed. In general, any publicity emanating from such a discussion will be negative in the extreme - and that's a good thing.

DTC...nobody dragged this murderer away from his corner shop in Britain, in order to brainwash him. Simple human decency should be enough to make it quite clear to him that what he is doing is wrong. If its the British murderer that we are talking about, he would have been brought up here, not in some backward, flyblown part of the world.

If he was brainwashed, then it was entirely willingly.

Thats was a throwaway remark, which perhaps wasn't terribly useful, and I withdraw it with immediate effect.

But my meaning was clear. Most of our British Muslims have made good lives for themselves here and are part of the community. If they have decided to go abroad and fight for a confused and barbaric cause, then they are to be condemned.

To answer the question, no I haven't, it wouldn't serve any useful purpose for me to see them. If it served a useful purpose I would but other than that I have no desire to witness this on film.

Yes I have seen it and yes it is ghastly and very disturbing and carried out by disgusting savages!!! and no, of course they are not sedated, these disgusting creatures want them to suffer and for everybody to witness that suffering.

I am not in favour of the death penalty for any crimes! except this!! make it last and make them suffer the same fate!!

TWR...I think I can answer your question regarding it happening over here.

Private Rigby was killed in the street, quite openly and there were some women standing nearby who did their best under the circumstances. I thought that they were extraordinarily brave and hope that they get some kind of recognition for their actions.

It has happened here. As far as I'm aware, Lee Rigby's head was practically severed from his body.
