Interesting assesment here. Why isn't Ed going for it? The Tories have problems currently, surely Ed should be scoring in these open goals.

It is always a mistake to play for a 1-0 win.
Totally agree, the Labour Party have missed many open goals in the last last 4 years. They are a lacklustre team playing as though they are fighting religation, not playing for a Champions League place
Labour would be happy with a 1-0 which they would take now.

Big problem is that their striker Edward Milliband is not scoring goals and it is too late now in the transfer market to replace him.
I suppose 1-0 is better than last times result which was 0-0 losing on penalties.

The problem with the football analogy is that the team finishing fourth in the Premiership also qualifies for the so-called "Champions' League". Three quarters of the participants are actually champions of nothing at all.
