Dj And Savile Both Raped The Same Girl.
http:// www.bbc .co.uk/ news/uk -295239 76
Never a day goes by that I wish Savile was still alive and in a cell somewhere, pending a trial. What a truly frightful creature he was.

But 2sp, there is ample and growing evidence that people DID speak up at the time, not just the victims of Savile but monsters like Cyril Smith. He also raped children for nearly 50 years, and some of his victims complained but to no avail. Instead they themselves were further punished for blackening the name of such a famous and wonderful man.
I have recommended the following book a few times here on AB but not lately...please get it from your local Library (if it has survived the Tory cuts ) ......it will make your hair stand on end ::
"Smile for the Camera"...the secret life of Cyril Smith, by Simon Danczuk, the present MP for Rochdale. Here is the review of the book from the Telegraph in May this year ::

I met Savile when he came on board HMS Ark Royal. Always thought he was creepy. He came into our mess for a drink and I heard that someone had spat in his. At the time I thought it was bad and sometimes thought about it when you would see him on TV raising money for all these charities, but since all this came out I don't feel bad at all now.
Grasscarp...I agree with jno...Terry Wogan is still a nice guy surely ? I can find no evidence that his name has been linked to any of these paedophile activities.
2sp...I think the only way that victims of paedophile activity can feel that some kind of justice has been done, is for the current Enquiry to be thorough and wide-reaching. It got off to a bad start this summer, and it is beginning to look as if the ball has been kicked into the long grass. This would be the very worse outcome as far as the victims are concerned.
The lesson of all these high profile cases is that we need to listen to the victims, many of whom were children.

^ I have to agree. Who for instance could cite Stuart Hall as a quiet one. He had the loudest laugh going and his radio commentaries were incredibly verbose and extrovert.
Terry Wogan can appear insincere with his somewhat wooden delivery but he has stood the test of time. Sardonic humour with Eurovision but his work on every 'Children in Need' gets a big approval from me.
