And there's been no improvement over the past 8 years:

Another government department not fit for purpose nor using the legislation that is put in place, to the cost of £850 million.
Odd there's no mention of the ECHR(yet) but I'll await further scrutiny on that one.

I didn't know we were deporting anyone ! Yooman rights and all that tripe !
It's all just more political blah blah blah.
Shame you can't "wind the clock back",,,and send 'em 'ere..
It used to work :-)
^good idea.
You've got that nice empty bit in the middle, ozzy. Could we rent some?
Yep...sure can....send millions and millions of pounds with them.
What a waste. We gave them that lovely big country and they all want to live by the sea-side.
Oh I do love to be beside the seaside
Oh I do love to be beside the sea
Laying in the sun
With melanomas on me bum
Is what I like to do.
The article says that new legislation is being put in place this week to stop foreign criminals appealing on a wide range of technicalities.
From the link
''Only 1 in 25 documents sent to the Home Office to start the removal process had the correct identity documents''
No wonder so many attempts failed !
^^ should read 'applications' sent to the home office. sorry
The problem is the ECHR merry go round. Rounds and rounds of appeals to line scum lawyers' pockets.

Couple that with the EU - anyone can come in policy and you are going no-where with it.

Was the report sponsored by UKIP by any chance? Because that and the ministers appearance on Sky this mornign are the perfect ad for them!
We shouldn't let them in in the first place, but i suppose our usual 'let em all in brigade' will say "if we don't let them in, who will commit the crimes, that our own criminals won't touch"?
Sometimes it seems the BBC and news in general are writing the UKIP manifesto for them
As I said 'read the link' only 1 out of every 25 applications to the Home office for deportation had the correct ID documentation!
Just 1 correct in every 25 applications, so 24 out of 25 were wrongly submitted meaning they failed.
So not the 'Human Rights brigade' or the 'ECHR' to blame it was just plain incompetence.
