It has crusader and football hooligan connotations that the people who love to be offended love to be offended by. Similar thing with the union flag, Although it has to be said they've both been going through a fairly successful reclaiming process for a few years now.

Both the people who love to be offended and the far right tm4ts that hijacked them for their own use are largely now being ignored by the sensible majority.

Last time I was down the Strand. London. I saw the swastika carved in stone, with other symbols, around the balustrade on the outside of the BBC which I thought was strange until I realised that part of the building was shared with India house. Strange that those who love to be offended didn't demand it be removed.

Mikey the swastika is an ancient symbol in many cultures. It was hijacked in the 30s. The far right in Europe have not always owned it.
