" Rant" I call it observation that some Idiots can not see.
I have no idea Farriercm............no idea at all.
Take 1992......inflation rising, unemployment increasing, Tories led by a non charismatic John Major.........Labour almost guaranteed a win led by Neil Kinnock............what happened.........a Tory victory.
Sqad said to himself " we will never see a Labour Government again"
What happened? Labour wins the next election spearheaded by Tony Blair and remained for ten years.
You can never say never Farriercm.

>>>>Will the Conservatives ever be in power again
What a strange comment to make.
Somebody has to come into power after Labour have managed to bankrupt the country once more.
All through my life we have had Labour governments that have bankrupted us, and conservative governments who sort out the mess.
Of course you could have Labour in power again for many years, but that just finishes up with half the population on benefits, rampant uncontrolled immigration, and a massive debt for the country.

My avatar once said....."The Tories are like rats you know, you think you have got rid of them but they always come back ! "
By the way Sqad, although Blair won three consecutive Elections for Labour, and then left, the Labour Government actually lasted for 13 years...1997-2010. But Major only just won in 1992, and it was inevitable, even then, that Labour would go on to have the massive landslide victory in 1997 !
In effect, the Tories started their demise the day after they won in 1992.
I still think that the Tories will lose power next May, but they will bounce back again at a later date, as sure as eggs are eggs !

VHG, were you not around when Ted Heath cocked up this country, and what about Thatcher, she put half the working class on the scrap heap, closed down whole communities, sold the crown jewells to privatisation ...... don't talk to me about the Tories, God help us if they get in again, snouts in troughs, bunch of posh boys who don't know the price of milk!!!
The Conservatives failed to win the last election and will probably not win the next, but it is too early to right them off.
The Party is currently split over many issues, but primarily Europe. If they lose in May 2015, the Party will fundamentally change.
The Party either will go more right of centre and more Eurosceptic. If it does not, there will be an exodus to UKIP (assuming they do OK in the General Election).
The later will be more damaging, so I image the Conservative Party will move to UKIP territory.
But they won't be going away anywhere soon.

Also,
The current Conservative Party is very poor. It is looking tired and unappealing to the electorate. It has been mired by the Coalition experience so will undoubtedly not do as well as it did in 2010.
Depending how badly it does at the election will dictate its future. Scrape into power again and it will continue on its present course, albeit with a replacement for Cameron. If it loses power, there will be some blood letting and big changes.

None of the 3 main party leaders are appealing, they are all too similar, Cameron looks and sounds what he is, a posh boy, millionaire who hasn't got a clue about the working class, even though he keeps bleating on about helping 'hard working people', Clegg looks tired and sold his soul for power and the general public will not forget that, he is doomed, and Milliband has had a charisma bypass and seems out of his depth! I have been Labour all of my life but this time its UKIP for me, the whole political system needs a shake up and I feel this is the only way. After the mauling of all 3 parties at the GE I would like to see Yvette Cooper as leader of Labour, very impressed with her.
