Do we need her acceptance ?
Does she have any say in the matter if the UK voted to leave?
It's rather badly worded.

What I believe F. Merkel means is that she is not willing to compromise on the issue of free movement across the EU and if the UK insists on changes to the rules they will be out of luck (as anaybody with half a brain has been saying all along). She is suggesting that the only way the UK will be able to restrict migrants from the EU is for us to leave the Union. And she's absolutely correct.
Is this not one of the few occasions that we should surrender to Germany?
Could she stop the UK leaving?
Bye bye Angela
What else can she say? 'We've made a mistake and we'll change everything to how the UK wants it'? Of course not.
Even if she believed that, which she most likely doesn't, she wouldn't say it.
It is merely a veiled threat that if we do not do as Miss says we will be expelled from school. So let's all play up in class and get kicked out. Saves on the cost of a referendum.
This puts David Cameron and his government in an interesting position.

On the one hand, he has always said that EU membership - albeit on re-negotiated terms - is right for Britain, and he is keen to stay in.

On the other hand, he has painted himself into a corner by pledging to heed the increasing clamour from the population to do something about unimpeeded immigration.

Which way can he go from here?
// Which way can he go from here? //

Don't know. Politics is all a bolluuxy chess game. He made a move, and now she's made a move that basically calls his bluff, and now it's back to him.
Neither of them wants the UK to leave the EU though.
What's it got to do with Mrs Meerkat? It's OUR business and WE have decided to get out (or at least, we will come the referendum)Mrs Meerkat is just getting her attack in first.
Bye Angie.
why do we allow ourselves to be bullied by her..and the bundesbank...auf wiedersehen Angela wir haben genug gehabt !
Oh well, that's good then. The Meerkat won't then be disappointed when we get out out out sooner rather than later. The vile EU will just have to look somewhere else for another mug country to fork out £50+ million A DAY to that set of thieving gangsters.
You aint going to get a referendum from Dave,he is full of broken promises.
If he meant it, you would get one now, whilst he is in Power.
Because it looks like he will not have the power to grant it next year,
and if by a miracle he would have the power in 2015 why wait until 2017 ???.
....or we could stay and do what the rest do, ignore the bits we don't like! We should control our borders full stop, doesn't metter if we are in or out.
Farrie, If our P.m. had the back bone he would tell the EU to ____ off, It is a disrespect to the people that give their lives for this dumping ground only to be dictated by a country that millions here in the UK give their lives. It used to be GREAT BRITAIN, Now, come here you can have what you want once you cross the water.
