I heard Baker being interviewed last week over the drug report last week and he sounded like someone crying in the wilderness.

However you will see each party start to form it's own agenda for the future. That is correct and is normal behavior for a coalition.
Baker does not have much of a majority, I suspect he feels he needs to engage his voters to keep his seat.
As we have said before, this election promises to be very interesting, I fully expect to see politicians doing things they would not normally do as no one from any party is really 100% safe now.

Reports of the coalition's death have been consistently exaggerated since day one of its formation.
Even one party governments have splits, factions, resignations, reshuffles, flounces and backstabbings by the bucketload.
Considering this one had a massive split built into it from the start, by virtue of the fact they're one different sides of a left/right divide, I think they've done well to keep it together as long as they have.

No. And it was bever meant to.
I imagine it will disband by mutual agreement in February / March.
Any proper Government business will have stopped by then anyway.
That will leave the Conservatives and LibDems free to do their electioneering. They will both claim the Coalitions achievements (there must be some) as their own, and blame the other party for all the mistakes.

Another exit from the Coalition, admittedly more minor than Mr Baker ::
