I heard Baker being interviewed last week over the drug report last week and he sounded like someone crying in the wilderness.

They're only hanging on by their toenails as it is and the ship is sinking rapidly. glug glug glug...
Yes, it will last.

However you will see each party start to form it's own agenda for the future. That is correct and is normal behavior for a coalition.

Baker does not have much of a majority, I suspect he feels he needs to engage his voters to keep his seat.

As we have said before, this election promises to be very interesting, I fully expect to see politicians doing things they would not normally do as no one from any party is really 100% safe now.
It will last because it is not in the interests of any of the incimbants to have a general election now. A VONC would fail and theyd never get the 2rds majority to disolve the house. This fixed parliament game is having an effect I guess.
Yes.
Reports of the coalition's death have been consistently exaggerated since day one of its formation.

Even one party governments have splits, factions, resignations, reshuffles, flounces and backstabbings by the bucketload.

Considering this one had a massive split built into it from the start, by virtue of the fact they're one different sides of a left/right divide, I think they've done well to keep it together as long as they have.
No. And it was bever meant to.

I imagine it will disband by mutual agreement in February / March.

Any proper Government business will have stopped by then anyway.

That will leave the Conservatives and LibDems free to do their electioneering. They will both claim the Coalitions achievements (there must be some) as their own, and blame the other party for all the mistakes.
The way it's going, they'll be lucky to last until tomorrow.

Another exit from the Coalition, admittedly more minor than Mr Baker ::

I think that it will last, because both parties agreed on the date - but it will become more and more acrimonious as Cons and Libs seek to distance themselves from each other and state their own cases. Doesn't make for effective government - upcoming crises will spiral.
