Why not Germany?

They are the largest economy in the EU and share many of the migrant worker issues we have.

Better they initiate and we support; than we initiate and they block.

/Iain Duncan Smith said:

'The case underlines what we have said for some time that free movement is not an unqualified right - and will have a major impact on the way the Commission interprets law in future.

'We have been working closely with Germany on this case, and will now work with other European Governments on the wide implications of the judgement in the coming days and weeks.'

Good!
Because they are the only ones with the gumption to sort a problem out ?

Mind you the issues are more than simply welfare tourists and sucker taxpayers.
It is the difference between being an active leading member of the EU and being a reluctant, non participating member.

The lession is clear, to get policies that we like, we need to engage more with the process. Germany does, and it gets things it wants.
I suspect it isn't that simple. Having power to get what you want isn't a simple case of engaging in order to push that which you disagree with.
Or better still, to get the policies we like, leave the EU and decide who comes here, who does not, who receives benefits and who does not without the need to gain the approval of any supra-national body.
