That was probably also funny to some.
A bit difficult though to pass judgment because reading a wholly unbiased Daily Wail report on the "sick" proceedings is different from actually being at the event.

That was famously said by the late Kenny Everett, a Labour suupporter.

He was invited to speak at a Tory Party conference, much to his bemusment, and once on stage, he decided to see just how far the audience would go.

In an act of intended irony, he shouted 'Let's Bomb Russia!' and was astounded to be greeted by cheers from the audience. Emboldened, he decided to outrage everyone with the most tasteless remark he could think of at the moment - 'Let's kick Michael Foot's stick away!' which was met with even more cheers!

Never underestimate the mob mentality of the Right at one of their 'Rallies'.

If it had been a Tory bash and someone made a remark that could be classed by some as racist, there would be demands from the left for heads to roll, but here I can't see any apologies even offered.

If the allegations are true, then he should, of course, apologise, just like the Tories did after Kenny Everetts remarks.

Well, whenever the organisers of the event log in to Answerbank and read the question then I am sure they will apologise.

Can't see what there is to be wound up about, unless someone was seriously suggesting murder. In the same way that of course Mr Everett was also not serious.
There are, surely, more serious issues to worry about

Wow the Mail must be desperate if they print such garbage.

The MPs were not to know the content of all the jokes beforehand when they attended a comedy night. There does not seem to be any proof that they laughed at those particular jokes.

Things said at a comedy night should not be taken literally
