Workers do the work they have the party more like it
Is it right that the homes of politicians are show here? Their addresses could easily be found by terrorists using the pictures and they, or their families, attacked.
The editorial staff of the Mail would have innocent blood on their hands.
Good point Sandy !

Well that is a different tack to aboid an awkward question.

Any half wit could find the address so your point is not valid.
do you honestly believe that these properties are not protected in any way?
So, they should give these houses up and only own 1 pair of shoes to be credible socialists?
socialism is for the little people YMB, they need guidance from above! See the Soviet Union!
Doubt it'll happen but I'd love to see Thornberry lose her seat in May.

youngmafbog, what type of houses do you think they should live in?
Its that big place in Britain that you and your fellow travellers hate.
It would be refreshing, Sandy, if at least one of them ever had a job or could relate to ordinary people.
Lord Falconer
Alistair Campbell
Neil Kinnock

Did they forget Kier Hardy?

That is a rather old list. Not even sure any of them are still Party members.

sandy, i think YMB means It's a bit hypocritical, preaching and, given half a chance, imposing socialism on the masses when not actually practicing socialist principles themselves. Eg lets abolish grammar schools and send our own kids to private school, remember Harman? Abbot? do as I say not as I do!
The average wage in the UK is £26K a year. The working class in most instances will be on a lot less than that.

A standard MP recieves £67K + considerable expenses.
The Leader of the Opposition recieves about £140K + expenses.

Surely the public know that. They do not expect Labour MPs to live like white van man. They know that Their Work managers are on more money than they are. They know that Union Leaders are on more money that they are.

It seems rather niave to think that someone with Socialist views cannot also be richer than the average person. It seems niave to expect Ed Miliband to be paid the same as someone who drives a van for a living.

Also, a house is usually purchased with a spouse. They may be independently wealthy. The Mail does not take that into account.
How's Nigel Farage, Egara? Masquerading with an anagram, tut.

What's wrong with a few champagne socialists in the Labour Party - they even have had the odd Lord after all, such as the Viscount Stansgate.

At least they have their feet on the ground to the general principle of being in an economic union, albeit one needing some modifications and tweaks at the edges - not like the banana that Dave is throwing as to immigration as it doesn't need throwing a hissy fit and walking out of Europe over. The modification/solution should be to position the UK's benefits to the back end of the gravy-train qualifications, rather than being in first place - and then double the necessary for out-of-Europe immigrants to qualify, something that our champagne socialists should support as well. This should be enough to deter Mr and Mrs Romania and Bulgaria, as well as those of the Indian sub-continent persuasion.
As to gromit's line, let's take a look at King Arthur Scargill, should we?

Oh how the rich in the Labour party live. Stansgate's house in Notting Hill is worth how much?
Viscount Stansgate is the son of Tony Benn (originally the 2nd Viscount Stansgate).
Exactly my point Blackadder, a £3 mln home at least........
