Terrible story breaking in Bristol. Where is the baby ? I'm not the praying sort of person, but if I was .....

Very sad. This outcome was the most likely, unfortunately, since she walked out of the hospital. Poor woman and baby girl, and their family.

BOO.....I don't think that the cause of death had been established......described as "suspicious" and post mortem was not helpful.

Morning Sqad ! Beautiful day breaking here in the far west of Cornwall, but not as warm as where you are, no doubt.

Yes, I saw the Lancs report on the news this morning. Seems strange at present, as there is so little to go on, but the following is very worrying :::

"They have also been arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to conceal the birth of a child and sexual offences"

The Bristol case seems to be post-natal depression perhaps ?

Sadly we'll never know, horrible outcome and I highly doubt the baby will be found alive. There's still hope I guess, but it's very improbable- may they both rest in peace.

In the Bristol case, I think I remember reading that the woman had had mental problems before.

In the Lancashire case, my first thought was it something like the Fritzel scenario. I hope it's nothing like that.

It was very cold last night, so even if the baby is lying somewhere safe, it might not have survived. Awful story.

I may have got it wrong, but when this story broke last night, reports said TWO bodies had been found. There may be a legal reason the body of the baby is not being reported.

Very sad. How an obviously vulnerable person can walk out of a hospital in slippers with a baby wrapped in a blanket beggars belief.

What a tragic end for this young woman and possibly the baby, although we can hope she is found safe till we hear otherwise. I am surprised that she could just walk out without being challenged, I thought there was all sorts of security at maternity wards these days.

What a tragic story this is, so sorry for all concerned, pity that this woman did not recieve the help, she so desperately needed.

Yes a dreadful story but we don't know any particular details yet, so perhaps it would be better if we all hold on from making various speculations?

What the CCTV shots did show was a number of NHS personnel crowding around a vending machine while the woman and her baby walked past them and out of the hospital door, if only.............?

Given no baby has been found abandoned I can't hold much hope for a better outcome than the one that first springs to mind. Heartbreaking case for all concerned.

I agree with Retrochic. Have just seen a picture of her walking past several nurses so I can't understand why they didn't stop her, (at that time of night) from walking out of the hospital, especially as she was known to have mental issues. So very sad.

How sad. Baby wouldn't have survived in this cold weather. Poor girl must have been in a terrible state of mind.
