It seems that AB's favourite Xenophobe's mammophobia is also shared by Farage.

It is not an unreasonable comment.

And, at present, although you would prefer otherwise it is a country of relatively free speech.
Oh what a lovely image....the breast feeding corner....perhaps we should wear pointy hats and replace the D with BM.....☺
for those of a sensitive disposition the mother should be facing the corner
I expect he is just trying to find a compromise between those who think a mum has a right to feed her baby anywhere and those who think it is a private act. A brave attempt, but had he any sense he'd stay out of it.
Maybe Nige wasn't breastfeed. Or maybe he was breastfeed for too long?

Least said soonest mended.
Farage did not say they should be in a corner, he said perhaps they could contuine to breast feed, but away from diners.

This is a bit unfair on Farage. He is not anti brestfeeding. He is just suggesting a bit of consideration.
Gromit...he said.....Or perhaps sit in the corner.....or whatever it might be... in response to being asked if she should go to the ladies room.
The BBC will be 'playing up' any and all anti-Farage stories ahead of his appearance on Question Time.
And while it is perfectly possible to breast feed discretely....isn't being put in the corner drawing attention?......☺
i think he is in a tricky situation - his party's demographic is older people, and it seems to be older people who are anti breastfeeding in public. so he doesn't want to alienate them
No one puts baby in the corner....

Yes, sit away from diners that is all it means. Stop trying to make more out of it than there is.

It would do some people no harm to have consideration to others. There is no need to parade breast feeding, it does not mean you have to hide, simply be considerate.
What about displaying some consideration towards mothers breastfeeding their babies? Stop making them feel like they are doing something dirty or to be ashamed off, stop asking them to hide away.
We're not going to go through this mauling again are we? i think bednobs has summed it up. People have different views, most of them very different to Farage's.
YMB...It's very difficult to parade and breast feed....curdles the milk.

Why are you assuming we are not considerate? I think you are seeing what you want to see here....that's part of the problem.
I remember not that long ago seeing in the guardians leftie job section an advert from some health authority or other for "A Breast Feeding Co-Ordinator"

as if that wasnt ridiculous enough , they were offering £31k plus all the usual OTT benefits these authorities dish out
Baz....breast feeding doesn't come as naturally as some think. Many many women have to be taught how to do it.
31k ...........I'll teach them for that
They would be a qualified midwife/nurse.
