More evidence that the rantings and ravings of those who predicted a flood of immigrants were completely wrong:

Typical Guardian report, what they fail to report is the fact that the surge had already happened.

AOG, there was no 'surge' or did your political blinkers choose not to read
"The Oxford University-based Migration Observatory said the growth in the Romanian and Bulgarian populations of the UK had remained at the same steady pace for the last seven years."

The Guardian and the Oxford University. Hmm hardly unbiased.

I thin I would prefer to see some independent (not The Independent) figures first. Stats can be easily massaged to suite the presenter and with both of these being known to have left wing haunts it is impossible to separate fact from fiction.
Question Author
Then go find some to support your argument and we can discuss sensibly.
I dont have an argument, all I said is I would like unbiased facts in order to make my assessment. Isn't that sensible?

Question Author
All I asked is that you prove they are unbiased. Isn't that fair?
Zacs - the reports do not fit with their blinkered eyes as it undermines their diatribe. Such avoidance is plain ignorant and very dangerous, underpinning the hallmarks of their want for facism in this hallowed country.
Oxford University is biased? On what do you base that?
Question Author
It's a shame some don't understand the basics of debate DT. Present some facts as an argument. Retort with some facts of your own as counter argument. Sadly the second part becomes lost in favour of unsubstantiated personal opinion.
Regardless of what the The Oxford University-based Migration Observatory says, the UK's Office for National Statistics has released figures which show that the number of Romanians and Bulgarians working in the UK rose by 26% in the second quarter of 2013.

A rise of 26% is a surge surely?
Just checked the Migration Observatory, and I am satisfied they are Independent and not politically funded.

Amazing that those who bander the word fascist about are actually the true fascists.

Gromit

And what about The UK's Office for National Statistics, are they not also unbiased?
Question Author
AOG, are you being deliberately obtuse? A surge is something out of the ordinary. As the stats point out, the 26% is in line with the last 7 years.
Question Author
If you believe the The UK's Office for National Statistics to be biased, could you please point out why?
Only the EDL's statistics are unbiased, Zac or Gromit. Surely you knew that?
AOG

Could you please provide a link.

It may be that the ONS are working raw stats that differ from those provided by Z-M.

Also, who are you referring to when you refer to fascists?

And what is a bander?

Question Author
Oh yes, of course.
