Can you explain your statement, please?
Thanks, Frugalfred.
News to me!
Me too. Googled it.
Thought this was common knowledge,
Thanks frugalfred..........Mikey will be in some state over this Guardian article.

But as the French say....."Plus ca change...Plus c'est la meme chose ".
What sins? The article says 'entirely legal...'
Legality is not the same as Morality,Naomi.....you of all people should know that !
here spake our resident communist.... what's illegal about making a fortune in a tax haven. Prove the illegal act!
The actions of Cameron's father - what bearing to they have on our economy?
What Naomi said! Wouldn't most people want to make money if it's legal to do so? Can't understand what is being said about it unless I've not read things properly...sometimes I don't lol.
For heaven's sake. Banks have been doing this for decades. What's it got to do with Cameron?
//Wouldn't most people want to make money if it's legal to do so?//

Apparently not - and if you believe that you'll believe anything.
Naomi is right. Nobody offers to pay unnecessary extra tax for moral reasons, that I know of.
... unless of course your morals are such that you'd give the whole of a big lottery win away to the less fortunate. Would you SirOracle?
I see you are sidestepping the question of morality, naomi.
Well...giving to charity is one thing...
SirOracle, I'm not side-stepping, but you are.
Sorry crossed posts.

You ask what I would do if I won the lottery (which is irrelevant to this discussion). I do not consider that it is immoral to participate in the lottery, but if I won a considerable amount,I would give a very large proportion of my winnings to "good causes".

I would do this legally, not using off-shore funds, and therefor paying tax on the donations I made.
SirOracle, you’re clearly a veritable pillar of society – very commendable I’m sure - but there was nothing illegal in what Mr Cameron’s father did and what thousands of others do with their money. And where do we draw the line? If you have managed to acquire a nice house, should you sell it, buy something less attractive and give the rest of the proceeds to the less fortunate? That would surely be the 'moral' thing to do - no?
