I myself have noticed something that andy_hughes mentioned...several colleagues at work have got married over the past decade, and the question of children is rarely if ever raised.
I wonder if this is a product of the fact that marriage is becoming less 'mandatory' for the production of offspring?

Things have changed, Ummmm...here and in Ireland but there are countries.... often the very poorest countries.... where the word of the Pope is the word of God....and followed to the letter.....countries where children who can't be fed or cared for properly will be born....because the Catholic Church says so......and I cannot understand that...I really can't.
European people have declined from 33% of the world's population to 5% in the last 50 years(so I keep reading)
Interesting that the same people, on here, who scoff at the (infallible)Pope tend to agree with our support of the African/Indian sub-continent population explosion. Most of those countries have quadrupled, at least, their populations in the same 50 years.
