/// Foreigners will be banned from entering Britain unless they have health insurance, ///
/// Under the plans, foreigners will only be entitled to free healthcare after they have contributed through taxation for five years. It would apply to anyone wanting to come to Britain if it is outside the the European Union. ///
/// more dementia funding, scrapping hospital parking charges and hiring more nurses, midwives and GPs. ///
/// The party said it will use £200million of the saving to end hospital car parking charges in England. ///

/// Rather academic aog, as they are not going to win the Election in a few weeks. As a minor Party, UKIP can promise the earth, safe in the knowledge that they will never have to do anything, ever. ///
I would not say "ever", but they are a political party who will be putting forward candidates up for election at the next General Election, so it is their duty to put forward their manifesto.
You along with others are always going on about them being a one policy party, and have urged then on for several months to announce the contents of their manifesto, so it looks as usual they are damned if they don't and damned if they do.
You put "they can promise the earth, safe in the knowledge that they will never have to do anything", don't all the other parties make promises before an election, that never come to fruition once they get in power, so why is UKIP any different?

I remember thinking when I read an old manifesto of UKIP's that it seemed to consistent either of good ideas which were completely up achievable or terrible ideas which would thankfully never get a chance to be put in practice
All parties have to promise hints. That is the nature of politics, but the nature of politics also is that when you get into power you find you can't do half th hings you promised even if you wanted. I think UKIP have quite a high percentage of those sorts of things. They'd never get a tobacco ban in pubs rescinded for example. The health policies likewise would never work either

AOg...as regards your last paragraph at 09:44 this morning...perhaps my meaning wasn't clear.
What I meant was that minor fringe Parties like UKIP, The Greens, etc, can put whatever they like into their manifestos, safe in the knowledge that, as they are highly unlikely to ever win power, they will never have to follow through.
As you say, all Parties make Manifesto promises that never come true but at least, as far as the Tories and Labour are concerned, they are in a position to fulfill promises if they so wish. UKIP is just a paper tiger, after all !

Gromit ////There is not one hospital in the country that does not have a bus service. A taxi to hospital, in many cases, will be cheaper than paying parking fees.////
We are 12 miles away from the nearest hospital, it costs approximately £25 for a taxi (each way), buses don't run directly, you would have to get one to the town centre and another one to the hospital, this would cost around £9 return and take at least 90-120 minutes to travel. These are hard facts, I have had to do one or the other more than once.
