I'm suggesting you're using this to equate 'our' culture with another culture. I'm just suggesting it's premature to ascribe this to 'our' culture.
If we were discussing honour killings abroad you wouldn't say 'ah, but we have our own honour killings in our culture' would you? Or maybe you would.

Becky's uncle Sam Galsworthy said last night that no-one on her father's side of the family had any connection to her disappearance.
He told ITV News: 'We want to make it absolutely clear that no member of Darren's side of the family are implicated in any way.

Does this mean someone on her mothers side of the family is implicated?

No doubt the full story, or as much as the police wish us to know, will be revealed in due course. Speculation at this point is futile. RIP Becky, taken far too soon. Thoughts with her family.

Apalling and words don't often fail me - I'll speculate that this is a sex crime in that she took her two pc devices with her, those containing evidence of on-line contact and that she has ended up in some sordid sex game or ring that went horrendously wrong and they have reacted by this attempted brutal cover up to what went on...... I hope that it isn't satanic though.

Bristol and Gloucestershire don't half have their fair share of such sordid crimes though.
