//One of the two pilots of the Germanwings plane that crashed in the French Alps was locked out of the cockpit, according to reports.

Early findings from the cockpit voice recorder suggest the pilot made desperate efforts to get back in, sources close to the investigation say.//

Is there no way at all that the crew can access the cockpit in an emergency? I wonder if the pilot left in control suffered a heart attack?

Thx Delboy - thanks for the accuracy check

I thought peope who had had personal knowledge of these incidents would notice the jaggedy bits in my own memory.

I am a survivor of the time when the NHS thought the airline industry had lots and lots to teach it on safety matters....I was retired before the converse took hold ( " we once thought the airline industry had a lot ..... )
// The Egypt Air crash is still unresolved, due in most part (my opinion) to the fact the co-pilot was Muslim which may have had bearing on the event, //

he was the one who was taped whispering allahu akbar !
at the very end, innit ?

( apolz to Delboy in advance )

I thougth that was why they have stressed that they could only hearing breathing on this crash. I think the co-pilot was sighing or overbreathing myself but others can say if the black box recorder picks up normal respiration
The police have found a pile of torn up sick notes at the co-pilot's home, one for the day of the crash. So he shouldn't even have been flying. This just can't get any worse.
