Private Eye covered this scam many years ago – pointing out that the company name ‘A4e’ stood for ‘all for Emma’

Quite how Mr. Cameron’s friend managed to escape prosecution is a mystery to me (other than the fact that she is Mr. Cameron’s friend).

Sadly one of the easiest organization to scam are the government.

The amount fiddled on VAT with carousel fraud where the same items (often things like mobile phones) are imported, exported again, then imported again (and again and again) and the VAT claimed each time (on the same item).

Often they don't even bother to export and import the items each time, just pretend it has been done so they can claim the VAT.

The amount "lost" runs into the billions.

Here is one example

I notice the names of the people involved in this case are Anthonia Ogbemudia and Waseem and Ajaz Saddique (good British names then).

In fact a search in Google for "VAT fraud" turns up lots of cases where the names are very "foreign".

But I forgot, immigration is a benefit isn't it.
I wonder if A4e currently have any contracts with the Government? It would be a scandal if they do.
Would you feel 'happier' if they were called John Smith and Ann Brown??
