If the find were in the North they would be telling us how lucky we are and how many jobs it will create, expecting our happy, smiley faces to beam at them.
I think it's good news. Taking a long-ish view we need to be as near self-sufficient in energy as possibly I.M.O.. The rest of the world cannot be counted upon to be a friendly place. It gives a breathing space to develop other forms of energy..... but Surrey, tut, tut!.... It will be NIMBYs using the eco argument to protect their spaces.
