Its this one-size-fits-all attitude that disappoints me about the current anti-islam rants on here. Every British Muslim is capable of being a terrorist, therefore must be a terrorist. I heard exactly the same about the Irish Catholics when I was growing up. Because the IRA were responsible for some truly awful criminal acts, all Catholics were just as capable.
Tarring with the same brush.

//We are in the middle of a very lively Election, the closest Election for many, many years. There are lots of issues that need debating, and this isn't the most important AOG !

So the fear of losing face should mikeys bubble burst in the next weeks overshadows a debate on how a question of National security is to be handled.
Nice to know in which order are mikey's priorities. :-)

If the Koran states what mushroom25 has posted, then we are in danger from every Muslim in the UK, and like every sensible non-Muslim, I shall run shrieking from every meeting I enter at work when I realise a Muslim is in there.
It is the only safe option.
I am currently staring at the chicken pieces I bought from our local deli wondering whether I should cook them. The family who run it are from Turkey...
Dodgy.

// The bigotry between Catholics and Protestants did not extend to creating caliphates by subjugation with hideous barbaric cruelty to those of other faiths.not in the modern world that is.//
yeah but did you see what they did to each other in 50 Dead Men Walking ?
especially that guy Scappaticci who was on our side thank god
It looked as tho the Irish dont need a caliphate to tear each other to bits

"The bigotry between Catholics and Protestants did not extend to creating caliphates by subjugation with hideous barbaric cruelty to those of other faiths.not in the modern world that is."
They didn't have to create caliphates.
They blew each other up every other weekend.
At least, a very small number of the, did.
Same with our Muslim population - except with Catholics and Protestants, no-one tried to tar all of them with the same brush...

THECORBYLOON, the father is a public figure, his politics irrelevant in this instance, but AOG provided a link to a newspaper and referred to its report – and that’s up to him.
SP, //no-one tried to tar all of them with the same brush...//
And no one here is trying to tar them all with the same brush, but the fact is – and it is a fact – that for a Muslim Islam takes precedence over all. I repeat, there can be no comparison between Islam and other religions. (I would have said ‘for a devout Muslim’ but to devout Muslims any other kind of Muslim isn’t Muslim). You, like Mikey, have no comprehension of Islam or the effect it has on the lives of its adherents.
Strangely enough we had similar cries of ‘foul’ and expressions of sympathy for the parents of the three girls from east London who recently fled to Syria to become brides of IS maniacs – until it transpired that the father of one who had publicly cried tears at the loss of his daughter had attended fundamentalist protests here in the UK. The importance of Islam is taught from birth. When children mature and take that to extremes Muslim parents need to look to themselves and to the indoctrination to which they’ve subjected their children.

// Peter I am afraid I have not the faintest idea what you are on about //
I wish I had a fiver for every time I've seen someone say that.

Looks like I put another fiver in Ludwig's pocket. I have no interest in your film fantasies
and neither am I interested in your inept way with dealing with a neighbour's bereavement. Both subjects have no relevance to the posts as usual.
Perhaps if the GP's secretary, ambulance control, man from the ministry and some police worker didn't have to listen to the ramblings of a dribbling lunatic then perhaps proceedings may have advanced more speedily.
Have never watched 50 Dead Men Walking but I saw Dirty Rotten Scoundrels which I commend to you.It has a character in who often reminds me of you. Look him up on youtube. His name was Ruprecht.

/// I hear what you're saying, and I don't agree with your summary because my experience is entirely different...because I suspect the Muslims I know are the kind of Muslims you do not believe exist (Westernised moderates). ///
And haven't we heard this type of thing time and time again?
"He was such a brilliant student, with a very bright future before him".
"Who would have thought it, he was such a good Doctor"
" I lived next door to the chap, and although he kept himself to himself, he was always very polite".
