As of yet Vaz has not made any public comment (defending or condemning) relating to his vociferous support for Lord Janner back in the early 90's and when later revelations came out. He has failed to condemn Janner's actions or comment on the chances missed to bring Janner to justice. Do you think there will be a backlash against Vaz on this issue and that he is likely to lose his seat at the forthcoming election because of this?

Unlikely in Leicester, although he ought to.
Taking a look at the Wikipedia entry for Mr. Vaz – such an indiscretion would appear par for the course (and a minor indiscretion at that, if the Wikipedia entry is to be believed).
Vaz is very popular in certain areas of Leicester.

I was brought up in the kids homes of Leicester and met Janner on more than one occasion, he always seemed to be visiting one home or another.
No, he wont.
Janner has only ever been interviewed by the Police once, in 1991. They did not take any further action. The investigation into historical child abuse allegations, Operation Enamal, did not interview him.
As it stands, he has never been arrested or prosecuted for any offence. I am not sure why any of this should worry Vaz, so his seat seems pretty safe.
No.

Voters tend not to join up the dots when election times come around - they won't abandon Vaz because of this misplaced loyalty.
