"The influential Conservative peer Lord Ashcroft has blamed David Cameron for the party’s failure to open up an opinion poll lead over Labour, as the election heads for a draw that could put Ed Miliband in Downing Street"
According to Ashcroft, Ed will soon be in Number Ten. When his friends start to turn against dave, perhaps its time he sat up and took notice ?

As has been said many times Dave & his cronies are completely isolated from the general public & hasn't a clue how the majority of the electorate live. One of the very worst in my opinion who Dave listens to with regard to keeping the populace in line is I B S ( irritable bowel syndrome) (you all know who I mean)who is always very keen to keep the peasants in their...

Its not what he is saying now Zacs ! His article in todays i paper makes it clear that he think dave has a lot of catching up to do.
His central point, on page 15, is that while "some voters who prefer Cameron to Miliband, but Labour to the Tories are starting to make their minds up - in favour of Labour"
He also goes on to say that any late surge by dave may be too late.

What ye reap so shall ye sow.
What ye reap so shall ye sow.
As you seem to love always bashing Dave, here is an endorsement from
Christine Legarde saying how he is making a great job of managing the UK economy.

I cant EVER imagine ANYONE ever saying Labour have made a goof job of managing the UK economy.
Some us are not swayed by the posturing going on during the election campaign, we KNOW the most important thing is the economy.
If we go bust (as Greece has gone bust) then all the talk of NHS, benefits, immigrants etc is pointless if we have no money.
As they say in US presidential campaigns "its the economy stupid"
Get that right and the rest follows, get it wrong and you are in big trouble.
Labour always manage to get it wrong, the Tories always manage to get it right.

One man's decision.
If one was to enter all those who blame Ed Milliband for Labour's demise, it would make a very long list.
/// Many will blame Ed Miliband, who is still carries two heavy pieces of personal baggage. He does not have the easy public manner of Cameron and Clegg, and even some of his supporters find him "weird". There also persists a feeling in many quarters that "fratricide" was not the way to become Labour leader. ///

So why can't dave make some clear blue water between the Tories and Labour , and keep it clear ?
Some on here might rubbish what Ashcroft is saying but dave had better listen. First it was Tebbit, now its another ex-Tory Party grandee ....they can't all be wrong can they ? These are his friends, not the Socialist Worker !

VHG...you are a Tory supporter and I respect your view.
But if it was all as simple as you say ( Some us are not swayed by the posturing going on during the election campaign, we KNOW the most important thing is the economy ) why are Labour and the Tories still neck and neck ?
Perhaps not enough people believe the Tories !

Mikey, //why can't dave make some clear blue water between the Tories and Labour , and keep it clear ?//
Déjà vu. History should have taught you not to count your chickens.
//First it was Tebbit,//
That's either more disingenuous spin from you, or a sure sign that you haven't understood what was said. Tebbit was talking about Scotland and only Scotland - and for very good reason.
Ron, move on. The 1930s are over.

A snowball in hell's chance but a Con/Lab coalition worked very well form 1940to 1945.
