Whatever happened to Widdy ?
She was one of the few Tory politicians that I had any time for. Called a spade a spade and didn't give a toss if people objected. She also famously fell out with Michael Howard and opined that he had a "touch of the night about him"
Well, she wasn't wrong there !
But she lost me when she subjected herself to the truly awful embarrassment of appearing on Strictly Come Dancing. The memory of her being dragged along the floor by her partner, like a sack of potatoes, will remain etched on my mind for some years yet to come.
