I'm more interested in knowing how many are brunette, surely that is more important than their sexuality?
And a big hooray for the tolerance of the British electorate from all sides.
AH...I agree with you on this as well !

Lets hope intolerance and bigotry is a thing of the past.
I've read through it twice and still make the total 31 so who is hiding in the closet?

Not as it should make a difference, but should certain religious voters be made aware of a candidate's sexuality, just as they are made aware of their political leanings?

At a guess more than one.
"At a guess more than one."
You're not suggesting that they're together in a water closet somewhere in Westminster?
And? Your point is?
AOG - //Not as it should make a difference, but should certain religious voters be made aware of a candidate's sexuality, just as they are made aware of their political leanings?//

I would suggest that anyone who's vote would be affected by the orientation of a candidate could make it their business to find out - after all, it appears that the candidates mentioned make no secret of it - as indeed they should not.
If it doesn't make a difference, why should voters be telt about the candidate's sexuality?
Wasn't there a story recently about a Kinnock who married a Danish politician, and he travels on the other bus. ( Not the gravy train that the rest of his family are on).
baza, the headline says six SNPers but the text says seven.
Non-news - no change there then.
I thought the SNP were going to be open and do nothing in secret.
I agree with Corby here. What possible business is it whether a MP is gay or not ? Its that MPs ability to be a good, hard working local representative that should be the most important, not who he/she has shared a bed with.

Why are we so obsessed with what people do in bed ? As far as I am concerned, its just plain old prurience.

Surely the most important question is
Can they do the job?
If Yes, what's the problem?
I do not care which team my MP bats for as long as they do a good job on my behalf.
Mikey and Baldric - your points are fair, but there are those for whom sexuality, and indeed gender are an issue, but they are an increasingly small minority, and amen to that.
You could have worded that better, Bazile.
Baza, even.
