Anything that "smells" of a move to the centre is immediately suppressed, privately educated, smartly dressed and a good brain.

I would like to know the real reason for him dropping out of the Labour leadership.

Have Labour learned nothing?

Another 10 years of Tory rule, by the looks of things.

He wants to be mayor!
He's 36 and doesn't want the hassle.
Dan Jarvis was the same tho he saw it coming earlier. A shame but his time will come ...

I think the ghost of Tony Blair is as hard to shake off as the ghost of Margaret Thatcher.

May 12th 2015........he is dead keen.

May 15th 2015.....he doesn't want the job.

That smells of left wing pressure.
Someone has pulled him to one side and whispered words to the following effect .

'' Don't take this the wrong way mate but the establishment has decided that the country is not ready for a black PM ''

Bazille........may be, but i think :

" we are going to lose the next election and you are too valuable to use now, so wait for 5 years and the job is yours."

Just as William Hague was used as a sacrificial lamb by the Tories.
Wise move probably. name an ex-leader of any party over the last 30 years who has left the job with their reputation in tact. Seems like a role that you have your time in the sun but will always fall from grace eventually. Maybe he's bright enough and young enough to not want that.
He doesn't like the scrutiny and I suppose the intrusion into things like the Jersey Trust Fund and his new girlfriend. What on earth did he expect?!
If you're into conspiracy theory nonsense then I think a slightly less barmy one would be the Tories putting pressure on. They don't want 1997 all over again
Utter tosh of course, tho you could see the reasoning, whereas Labour decide to shaft their own best candidate ...er
Especially when he's already put his name forward
If anyone has decided it would be better to try later then it will be the man himself.

Sqad...as I have mentioned on another thread, he has cited the effect on him and his family, if he should be successful. Who can blame him ? Our Media chews people up and spits them out on a regular basis. I recall what happened to Peter Tatchell, which was disgraceful.
I also recall the DM making headlines about the Milliband's father, after he had died.
I'll re-post here what I posted on the other thread.

Chuka Umunna doesn't appear to have the support of the unions - not left wing enough. We could be about to witness the lid finally closing on Labour's self-igniting coffin.

"He wants to be mayor! "

"swamped by ethnics "

swamped by ethnics London,
