No, what I said, and you can check ( and you will ! ) is that no mould would be broken by this disorganised rabble. I predicted that they would fall on their *** in the Election and they did. Not only did they not make any gains, they actually lost 1 of their only 2 seats. The Party also failed to get its Leader elected, and he promised to resign his position if he failed to get into Westminster, although he seems to have forgotten that now.
But it didn't take a genius to make that prediction, did it, so I can't really claim much in the way of credit.
Farage is making much of coming second in lots of seats. I don't want to waste time trying to find out just how many seats that was applicable to, nor, to be frank, do I have any desire to do so. But Labour came second in lots of seats, and the Tories did as well, but we are not hearing any whining from them are we !
The truth is that Farage and UKIP just weren't popular enough, and that is why they failed to make any impression.
It can't be denied that Labour are in an unenviable place right now, but they will bounce back like they always have. The reality with UKIP is that they have been trying to get into Westminster since 1991, and they have failed to make anything other than a big noise.
