Amusing, but one can understand why. Too many of the public love to twist things. One even finds examples of it here at AB sometimes. Not overly clever of the aide though. Had he just lost his job or something ?
I expect it would have appeared as a story in, say, the Indy or the Times if it had been Farage.

Same as Miliband, in fact.
I am not sure if this is true or not but considering what happened when he had a simple bacon sandwich for breakfast, is it any wonder that he is cautious of the media ?
Although there is a difference between not wanting to do that because you are afraid of riling Farageists -- and being a Farageist actually thinking Westminster Cathedral IS a mosque (!)
One is rather sad, the other hilarious
And there's also the worry that politicians should be cautious because anybody in the UK would think that the Royal Pavilion (a very recognisable building) is a mosque. But I imagine there are countless thousands who have never heard of it or any of its history.
I am trying to remember a similar confusion with Westminster Cathedral...an anybody hep me out ?

And in the interests of "balanced reporting" (from the Grauniad to the Torygraph, or the ridiculous to the sublime as some might have it):

Thanks NJ...I had forgotten the exact details and I am obliged to you.
You're very welcome old friend.

I'm surprised you'd forgotten the details as the story involved your favourite political party! :-)
LOL NJ....actually, I have absorbed so much useless info on UKIP, that I think my memory is full !
/Imagine the media outrage if it had been Nigel Farage who had said that?/

Instead I imagined the posters here outrage and thread after thread of the same posts slightly altered then opened my eyes and found it was true.

Not a pretty site and not people I would like to go the pub with.
Indoor photos are ok but not outdoors = hypocrite!

Don't let us keep you, Broseph.
Bro - I think even AOG recognises that
considering the number of tiimes he castigates 'lefties' in his thread.
The same usual suspects

when Stravinski was asked about Vivaldis concerti ( ! ! ) he replied
It is just the same concerto written out 516 times

and I think when you opened your eyes you were in the same deja vu position werent you
Surely no leader of the Labour party would want to be snapped in front of a Royal Palace? "See this building behind me? It's my weekend place...
/Don't let us keep you, Broseph./

"Us?"

Who exactly are "us?"

Doesn't anyone in this section have a grasping knowledge of individuality or does everyone here move in packs like roving predators on the hunt for their next meal?
/And I think when you opened your eyes you were in the same deja vu position werent you/

Indeed.Good to see that like me you're on the trolley and noticed this like I did.
it's one thing to fear that voters may mistake a fairly oriental palace for a mosque. It's a different matter to mistake a Catholic cathedral for a mosque yourself.

The more so if you're claiming to defend the traditions of the country and yet aren't aware that Catholicism has been the number one religion here for most of the last 2000 years.
Merely pointing out, Broseph, that if you don't like this site or the people that use it, we(ie. the other members) can't force you to stay here. hth.
