Probably forego any registration procedures and assist them en masse through and out of Italy into another European country like Austria I should imagine.

Or, give them all Italian passports so that they can go wherever they like, whenever they like.

One would live in the naive hope that if Italy just granted Passports out willy nilly then they would be expelled from membership of the club as they would have placed the rest of Europe in grave jeopardy.Italy needs the benefits of EEC membership more than we do.We subsidise Italy and Greece's corrupt financial regime don't we? But there again Brussels is as bent as a bunch of bananas when it comes to fiscal affairs. Lets get out and Italy can do their worst with the other members of the club.
