/// Not really a great, AOG? Anyone's death is sad, though ///

All a matter of opinion of course, but personally I think he could be classed as one of the greats.
My Mum was a fan too. RIP Mr Doonican.

Barsel -Brilliant -even after all this time I can remember most of the words lol!
One of the great easy listening singers and apparently a lovely guy. I used to love his shows. RIP Val.
I always enjoyed watching his shows. RIP Val.
Oh No! Another nice guy and non-offensive entertainer gone! Thanks to all who have posted You-tube links, I've just had an enjoyable time listening.

I'm about word-perfect on 'Paddy McGinty's Goat' - on Saturday we're singing at an 'English Afternoon Tea' (and games, raffles etc. ) money making event to try to save the vestry of the 12th C church - it's sinking- so major fund-raising effort required. I may suggest that next time we include a few of these - always raise a smile.

Thank you Val, Rest In Peace. :)
He was a nice man, I really liked his singing, wish we had someone like him now.
