A child does not cease to be a child because he has become corrupted, and we need to be aware of applying adult reasoning, thoughts, perspectives, and our perceptions to a child who needs help and guidance to avoid travelling further down this path.
I do not make 'excuses' for children caught up in terrorist corruption and manipulation - but I think a degree of understanding is appropriate.

It's a pity that the parents don't apply a bit of adult reasoning before filling their children's heads, from birth, with the notion that Islam is paramount. Ultimately, the responsibility is theirs.

We hear this phrase, mainly from the mother, time and time again and I say again, if one wants to know the inner thoughts or indeed deeds of a child, don't ask the parents.
I think that a definition of child has changed over the years certainly needs a reassessment in today's world.
It is no consolation for victims and their parents and close friends to know that their deaths have been committed by a "child" but not necessarily an "innocent " child.
I do not know the answer to this indoctrination of children.

Quite so, but i wasn't thinking of a legal definition, more of a sociological definition.
My simple definition of a child was not someone who would consider beheading or indeed de boweling individuals, but clearly according to the first post of A-H, people are considering the arrival of "childish things".

/// Is the solution to round up the youth of Blackburn, put them in the local Odeon, and drop a bomb on them? That would fit with your last great plan. ///
Only if they were in the cinema watching ISIS documentaries on how to behead non believers. //
Fortunately, not everyone who watches something in a cinema is necessarily keen to go out and re-enact what they have seen.
Where would that leave us?
Dancing on cars after West Side Story, to concocting murders after Strangers On A Train - the mind boggles!!!

Hardly likely to be any stars such as Richard Beymer or Farley Granger, in their sort of films Andy, in fact Children would not be allowed in unless accompanied by a sadistic adult. //
Mt previous post was an attempt to prick the nonsensical notion that you can execute children for watching a film - however horrific its content may be.
I could suggest that you missed my point - but I prefer to think you simply chose not to respond to it.

Free will is an illusion.
Between 10 and 17 one does not treat someone as having the same sense of responsibility as an adult. This means if his mind has been corrupted because insufficient adult supervision has meant evil individuals got to him, this must be taken into consideration. It doesn't mean he gets off scot-free however.
