This cowardly attack took place on 31st May, why has it took so long to reach the majority of the national newspapers, but not the Guardian it seems?

Perhaps the police don't want people to see that our Gallant Muslim upholders of Sharia law are still active in and around Tower Hamlets and maintaining their No Go areas. Those areas that some people here refuse to believe exist in London.
Ha Ha Ha. Bet the victim is laughing his socks off and so pleased to share the streets of London with his playful Asian buddys.!!

/// Because the Police have only just released the video. If you could make it past the word "Asian", you'd have read that in the article. ///
I did read it past the word 'Asian' (still allowed to quote that name are we)?
Because the police have only just released the video, doesn't mean that such a crime didn't take place, or that we need visual evidence of it happening, so I ask again "why has this cowardly crime only just reached the newspapers"?

Because the City of London Police only issued an appeal for help with this investigation yesterday. This is not really a news report into the crime, it is an appeal for information by the police.

Even if the newspapers knew about this incident from a souce other than the police, when a criminal investigation is underway, there are reporting restrictions imposed. I assume that the fact the Police are trawling for clues from the public, that their investigation has got nowhere in the last two months.
Two of the men were riding Boris Bikes, which could have identified them, but presumably hasn't.

Retrocop,
Rotherham is a very poor comparison. The Police investigation ( or lack of it ) was the reason those men got away with it for so long.

In this attack, it looks like the City of London Police are making a good deal of effort to find find the culprits.

It is a fair comparison.
//Rotherham is a very poor comparison. The Police investigation ( or lack of it ) was the reason those men got away with it for so long. //
The reason the investigation ( or lack of it) took so long was because of the ethnicity of the gangs committing the crimes and the police were scared witless to be labelled racist by doing their public duty.
They had everything against them including a Labour controlled local council dominated by Muslims who also wanted a lid kept on it and brought pressure to bear.

Svejk,
// One can only presume they were riding stolen Boris Bikes, wouldn't you say, gromit? //
It is one possibility. However, the number of bikes stolen over the 5 years of the scheme is 27 out of 11,000 bikes. So there are not that many stolen bikes about. That could actually help the enquiry if they police asked the public for names of people known to have a stolen Boris Bike. But that question was not asked in the appeal for information.

///Can't speak for Gromit, but I wouldn't assume so - the bikes are booked on a credit card, and have to be returned to a docking station after a set booking time - you can't steal them!///
Surely if that was right, Andy, the police would have caught 2 of the gang members within hours. Hence my presumption.
