I suppose the sheep have to toe the party line and be gathered in from their straying before they are told by the bully boys who to vote for. "Interesting times" as a well known Labour supporter oft quotes. :-)

He hasn't won yet! But we'll see what happens. At the moment it's looking increasingly likely that a guy who was only put on the ballot to "widen the argument" is going to romp home against people who seem to have been virtually anonymous by comparison.
The Labour leadership appear to have seriously underestimated Jeremy Corbyn and the extent to which he appeals to disgruntled left-wingers. The Conservatives would be well-advised to avoid underestimating him in turn.

I think he is quite a refreshing change and may be just what the Labour party needs. In my student days. In the days when I was more actively involved in politics I would have voted for Jeremy Corbyn.
It's a shame Alan Johnson didn't stand. I also like Frank Field but he may not come across as a potential PM

Well IF, IF Corbyn wins, it will make the next 4 years interesting particularly from the point of view of the media..........some good stories.
If he did win, then if i were Dave, i would push through the extreme right wing policies that he had in mind at the start of the Parliament and worry about Corbyn with a year to go.

Miliband was a Tory clone and he still lost.
What is the point of electing another Labour leader indistinguishable from Cameron?
Why not try to win the election by being true to its supporters rather than trying to be something it isn't to its opponents supporters.
Labour will almost certainly lose, but at least they will have put up a fight.

TTT -- if Corbyn does end up winning, and goes on to lead the Labour Party into the election, then it's not entirely impossible that he'll be able to unify most of the Left and in doing so pose a serious threat to the Tories. What seems to be his strong point currently is how much of a fresh face he is. That appeal is unlikely to last very long. But if it does, then the Tories should be careful about their current pointing and laughing.
On the other hand, Corbyn probably won't be attractive enough to the centre of politics to win. But if he's been underestimated as a Labour leadership candidate, it would be dangerous to do the same in the General Elections. We'll see.
Personally I don't think Labour under Corbyn has a cat's chance in hell of winning an election, and I'm sticking to my "I'll vote Tory if he's in charge" line, but certainly the Tories will need to be wary.
