How cool is this guy ...

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-sussex-33741380

Every year, he takes part in the Pride Parade ... on his mobility scooter !!

He carries a banner saying " I'm the oldest gay in the village".

In the past, he has been given a criminal conviction for being gay. This weekend, he married his BF, to coincide with Pride Weekend.

That's the way to go when you're in your 90s!

Svejk - ///// I think you will find that I do not insult people individually - although I am sure that if I have done so unwittingly, I can rely on you to find - and post - the evidence.///

Don't forget, andy, that time somebody, ahem, hi-jacked your computer.//

Let's not go there shall we - it'll end in tears.
Svejk....I remember that but someone has posted as me before so it can happen.
Thank you ummmm.
I didn't say it doesn't.
I often worry that someone will post a serious and sensible comment in my name and ruin my reputation..... :-(
Jayne - I think your post was excellent - and I have certainly found food for thought in it, because I do pride myself on my levels of tolerance, but as you say, it is a matter of personal perspective.
Svejk - //I didn't say it doesn't. //

But putting 'ahem' in your post infers that you don't believe that it does.

Aww, sqad, thank you. Your "wind bag" post just made me laugh (actually properly laugh).

You do know how to cut through the crap, don't you.

You're like a refreshing gin and tonic with a bit of zesty lime. Actually, speaking of gin and tonic, is it too early for ...

Oh, yes it is, actually.
No...it isn't..x

gness ... Well, maybe if one treated the lime as "lunch"?
Maybe i am "old fashioned" but can anyone remember in English exams a subsection called .."Precis?" What it did was to give a verbose and "flowery" excerpt and one had to cut it down to size, still maintain the essentials.
We seem to have lost that art as i for one continually saying "Yes, yes doctor, give me the bottom line, as we have more patients to see" to junior doctors on ward rounds.

Acting the way that some ABers debate, i would have never got through the day's work.
Sqad - I know that my posts are often long and verbose, but I simply write the way I talk - and I often find it difficult to be bothered to edit afterwards, so I just hit the button.

If that's my worst fault, I can live with it!
A-H

\\\\\If that's my worst fault, I can live with it!\\\\

I know you can.....but can others?

JJ...our posts crossed.
Exactly, JJ......but one should always wash down lime with.......☺
Sqad - //A-H

\\\\\If that's my worst fault, I can live with it!\\\\

I know you can.....but can others? //

I really hope so!

Chance'd be a fine thing.... :-(
gness - Be careful what you wish for ....!!
I have a gay friend........well three really..........well not friends but acquaintances.....if you know what i mean and my Gay friend sent me a joke by email.......quite funny, not hilarious and i sent him back this joke from AB.

http://www.theanswerbank.co.uk/Phrases-and-Sayings/Jokes/Question1436378.html

When i told Mrs sqad that I had sent it,she was furious and said that it was inappropriate and insulting.

What do you think?

P.S A-H in less than 1.000 words if possible.
Sqad - apart from the fact that I heard it fifty years ago, it did make me smile.

If I knew someone who was gay / black / divorced / disabled, or any of the other potentially dodgy areas for joke telling, and I knew them well enough to know that they would not take offence - I would pass a similar joke along.

A-H.......is that it?

You see you can do it if you try.
