This is incredible, Britain's biggest scrounger celebrity, telling us we need to open up our borders so as to let in yet more benefit cheats into this country.

Doesn't she realise, they may have to cut her money down so as to pay for her foreign friends?

She hasn't claimed benefits for at least 18 months, AOG.
who?
Oh,is she still a benefits claimant? Didn't know that.
//'They are ...people fleeing for their lives'//

No they're not. They're in a safe country - France.
Glad to see you're now well back on your xenophopia hobby horse AOG, I was a bit worried after your first post today, but the two since have reassured me.
Really. What do you expect from those who (seem to) think public money is a magic pot that just refills itself ?
Why on earth would anyone take a moment's notice of this woman's opinion on just about anything?

This is The Mail poking the bear with its readership - and the reaction will be predictable.

Frankly, if 'White Dee' told me the day of the week had a 'y' in it, I'd look at a calendar!
I must have read a different article, AOG.....I can't find where she wants to let "benefit cheats" into this country.
All I will say is,as we are allowed opinions so is Deirdre Kelly.
It would be good if posters addressed the issue rather than joining in to gang up on AOG…. and Canary, people who have genuine concerns about potentially millions of people flocking in from the third world are not xenophobic – they are rightly concerned about the effect that it would have on this country.
Then maybe it would have been a good idea to couch the question a little better.
Given the choice between an illegal immigrant and that dreadful woman, I would opt for the former.

///'They are not interested in benefits - all they want is to feel safe and work hard for a living.///

And of course, she would know!

If AOG weren't so aggressive and derogative in his opening posts he may get replies that are focused on the subject, naomi.

In this OP he has called Deirdre Kelly 'Britain's biggest celebrity scrounger' and accused her of being in receipt of benefits when this is not true.
He has also called migrants 'benefit cheats' before they've even got in to the country.

That's just my opinion as to why AOG receives the sort of replies that he does.

Naomi - //It would be good if posters addressed the issue rather than joining in to gang up on AOG…. //

But the issue in AOG's OP is not the border crisis - it's the fact that a tv celebrity has pronounced on it, and the media have picked that up because it will enrage their audiences.

On that basis, most of the challenges appear fair, if a little ... ah ... robust!

She was a scrounger, she is a "celebrity", courtesy of the media who are rewarding her so amply that she no longer needs to claim benefits, and she is certainly "big", so I see nothing wrong with AOG's description.
It’s utterly pathetic that the perception of one person on this board so easily detracts so many from such an important issue.

Strange that this woman appears to say something rather different in the Sun – “Britain needs to look after Britain first”. I can’t access the full article – I’m not a ‘member' - but the headline seems to be contrary to what she’s saying in the Mail. Perhaps someone else can access it.

I think in the clip supplied, her opinions are well meaning but naive, though many may indeed be more than happy to come and work, some won't.

They are unlikely to tell a TV show that fact though.

Perhaps it would be better having a dig at the TV company behind the show she is making.

However as said before,Deirdre is as entitled to her views as we are.
Naomi - //It’s utterly pathetic that the perception of one person on this board so easily detracts so many from such an important issue. //

I don't think it detracts from the issue at all.

If AOG has posted a Question along the lines of 'What do we think about the migrant situation?' - he'd have received a number of answers based on that part of the issue - the serious part.

But he didn't.

AOG's OP asks the question about 'White Dee' and her opinion on the subject, so not surprisingly, the responses are about her, not the crisis.

You can't expect people to discuss one point when the OP raises another - and the two are mutually exclusive.

My opinion about the migrants is that it is a serious issue.

My opinion on 'White Dee's pronouncement is that I couldn't care less if I tried about what she thinks.
