We must agree to differ - I think jno's post is crystal clear.

But there still remains the matter of why you, and indeed AOG, think we were 'wrong' for out posts.

I think AOG sees both of us as agitating - I cannot speak for jno, but it is not something I do - and I have been rather rudely answered for querying that perceived point.

Similarly, jack has been attacked utterly without foundation.

I am only speaking for myself, but I see nothing wrong with the posts from any of us - and I await a response from you and / or AOG to explain exactly what the upset is all about.

AOG thought it was - he responded - somewhat rudely, but he did respond, which suggests that he understood what was said.

If you are having a problem, then I suggest you wait for AOG or jno to return - I am not about to speak for either of them.

OK - I have engaged with AOG about what I think is hard posting to another AB'er.

I received a similarly harsh response from AOG.

Then jack received similar treatment.

Then you launched in deciding that we were 'wrong' but failed to explain why.

Then you decided that jno's post was unclear, although how clearer a one-line post can be I don't know - AOG obviously understood it perfectly well, hence his response.

The I ask for clarification from you about what you specifically think I have said that is wrong, then you say I make you laugh.

If you want to get hold of the wrong end of the stick and beat about the bush with it, feel free, but straight answers to straight questions go a long way to avoiding confusion.

What an odd thread - I thought it was about a man accused of rape in South Africa.

OK, I am out of this.

I have this morning apologised to Retrocop for being unduly harsh in one of my posts.

Now I find myself embroiled in a two-prong attack from AOG and Talbot, both of whom have taken issue with a simple question, and both of whom refuse to tell me what their problem is.

In tandem, both of them seem to think I am in league with jno and jack - when I and they know full well that both of them are perfectly capable of speaking up for themselves.

Finally AOG, I get an exhaustive list of posts you have copied from jack's input, and for reasons I do not understand, you have offered them to me!

rarely do I dip out of a thread before its conclusion, but this is like plaiting fog, and I am sure everyone else is getting irritated and bored with our endless merry-go-round.

Talbot and AOG - carry on between yourselves if you wish - you are obviously seeing something that I cannot see, and you will not explain it to me, so that is the end of my input.

What is it that you wanted to discuss on this story?

I don't know about you, but whenever I post a story, I like to give a little bit of an opinion about it...that helps people either to take a supporting or opposing point of view.

So with that in mind - what are your thoughts on this story?

Perhaps we need to start the ball rolling.

There's scant information to go on in the report, but something really stood out to me...this passage:

In South Africa, a defendant in a sexual assault case cannot be named until they have entered a plea to the charges.

I find that very interesting, as I didn't know about that particular rule.

I wonder how long (after an arrest) a plea has to be made?
