I have never been to Manchester, although I did go to Blackpool once, and that one experience was enough for me !
I wouldn't want to live in Manchester (or Blackpool either, Mikey) myself. Then again I would find either preferable to London or most of the places I know in the South East. (This is to TTT!)

To interject slightly off topic, I left England (the Potteries region) as a young kid in 1957 and have never been back. It's not hard to imagine that if I were to pay a visit now, there would be very little that I would recognize or be at all familiar with. I realize of course that that could be said about most places. I don't suppose Mrs. Minniver would recognize much either:)
